Theatre outing in the city |
|
| Cynthia was the first one to take on coodinating a theatre outing this new year, 2008. The play was Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet at the American Conservatory Theatre on Geary Street in San Francisco. | |
The play was a satire of the shallowness of the movie business. How maybe-not-so-good-movies are made as they are what we as movie-goers want to see...and the more marginal movies are left as half-read scripts on producers desks. How people do whatever necessary to get closer to the movie-making and the big bucks..."you are who you have to be to become what you want to be"-sort of mentality. It was an entertaining play. I did laugh and surely enjoyed it, even though it might not be one of those plays that you take with you home, think about and discuss overly much.

| After the play we went to a nearby bar and had a bite to eat. As always a pleasure to sit and chat with the girls! A fun outing to the city! | |
